10 of the best diffuser blends for fall – get cosy for autumn with these warming scents!

By Alison Angold CIDESCO ITEC

Fall – or autumn as we say here in the UK – is such a lovely time of year. Not quite the bitter cold of winter, but a chance to wrap up in jumpers and boots, and get outside. Fall colours are amazing as the leaves on the trees change, and as they fall, crunching under our feet. And then there are the smells! Fresh, crisp, and warming all at the same time. The fresh and crisp scent of the outdoors and the warm, inviting aroma of log fires inside.

We can re-create these aromas in our homes, with essential oil diffuser blends ideal for fall. Look for oils that are woody, fresh, citrusy, and warming.

The best essential oils for fall and autumn are;

  • Cedarwood
  • Clary sage
  • Clove
  • Cypress
  • Fennel
  • Frankincense
  • Ginger
  • Grapefruit
  • Juniper
  • Orange
  • Petitgrain
  • Pine
  • Rosemary

There are so many different oils that suit a fall or autumn feel, but I do try and avoid overly spicy essential oils such as cinnamon and clove – not that I don’t love these smells – I just like to save these for my winter and Christmas diffuser blends! I like to separate my seasonal aromas!

Why use a diffuser for fall essential oils?

A diffuser is an ideal way to fill your home with scents from essential oils. The diffuser, allows the aromas to be gently dispersed into the air and enables you to reap the beneficial effects of the oils, without having to apply them to the skin.

However, an essential oil burner can also be used. A burner gently warms the oils by way of a candle and emits the pure aromas into your rooms.

Either way, a diffuser or burner makes using essential oils easy and effective.

Precautions of essential oils for fall diffuser blends

Most essential oils are safe to use when diffusing, however, if you suffer from respiratory issues, do be careful. Only use 1-2 drops of each oil, and ensure that you switch the diffuser off occasionally to clear the air. If you experience any coughs or irritation from the oils, then stop using them.
